Elon Musk  started following crypto exchange OKX on Twitter, which  suddenly raised the price of the OKB token.

The price of OKB tokens was $22.97 before the event and rose to $24.15 within an hour. Trading volume also increased by $15.58 million  to $18.73 million. At the time of writing, the coin has gained 7.41% in the last 24hours.

OKX currently has a market capitalization of $1.86 trillion and a trading volume of 29.61%.

Musk and Crypto Connection

Musk has never followed any exchange account on the microblogging platform before.

He publicly endorsed the self-crypto Dogecoin and follows its founder Billy Markus. This sometimes gave the sign a significant boost. Before taking over Twitter, he hinted at the possibility of Dogecoin being a means of payment  on the platform. In an interview with the Times last year, he argued that Dogecoin is better suited for transactions than Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency exchange.

There have been reports for some time that Musk is launching a Twitter coin. This  again raised the price of DOGE. App developers Nima Owji and Jane Manchun Wong discovered a "Coins" section in a hidden "Tips" menu in Twitter's settings. Wong, however, deleted his account immediately after the tweet. This has not been officially  confirmed by Musk or Twitter.

Binance backed him to buy Twitter with $500 million. But he doesn't follow Binance or its founder CZ.

OKX is a Seychelles cryptocurrency exchange founded by Star Xu and owned by OK Group. It was previously called OKXe. In early 2022, it was renamed OKX. In March, soccer team Manchester United announced its partnership with OKX as an official cryptocurrency partner.
